In honor of March Madness, here's the week's "play-by-play"....
SUNDAY
We arrived in the valley on Sunday night and went straight up to Grandma Delsa and Grandpa Kay's house where a lot of the extended family was still hanging out. It was a good visit and we're glad we stopped by... (And Happy Birthday to Brenda!)
MONDAY
Zane went snowmobiling with Tyler Gardner and had a blast. That night we went up to Jackson Hole where some of the family enjoyed swimming at the rec. center. We finished off the evening with some delicious icecream from a local shop in Jackson. (And Happy Birthday to James!)
TUESDAY
We had a family dinner up at "Ft. Erickson" (Kyle and Wendy's).. And celebrated Don's birthday- Happy Birthday! Other than that, it was a pretty low-key, relaxing day.
WEDNESDAY
Zane, Kendall, and Kyle went snowmobling.. Chelsi, Beckett and I headed to Idaho Falls for lunch with Kayla and Zachary, and then a little shopping.. Great picture of everyone but me- sorry I blinked!
THURSDAY
Our last day in the valley- We had stayed up in Auburn on Wednesday night, so after we got ready Thursday morning, we headed back down to Afton. Chelsi and I started making Samoa cookie bars (for the recipe, go to http://bakingbites.com/2009/02/homemade-girl-scout-cookies-samoas-bars/ ) when Beckett came toddling out of the bedroom, looking like his pj shirt was a little bit wet.. So Chelsi went to investigate...
He knew what he did ;)
A little while later, Zane, Wendy and I went to see Grandma Draney. We had a good visit with her, and I saw what a dairy farm looks like in the spring- muddy. But other than the mud, it was a beautiful day with pleasent temperatures and sunshine.
FRIDAY
We left that morning to head to Casper- we went up through Jackson and across the state that way... And I've got say, I enjoyed that drive much more than the one on I-80! It was beautiful up by the Tetons (although there were low clouds, so we couldn't see the Grand Teton). Then a ways down the road we passed by snow drifts several feet high.. and then maybe an hour down the road, there wasn't any snow in sight and it was in the high 60s! Now that is what I call springtime- sunshine, blue skies, and a light breeze :) When we finally made it to Casper, we checked into our hotel, then went out for some shopping and dinner. We ate at a place called Sanford's, and it came
For fans of anything buffalo flavored, this burger was AMAZING....
And we had to finish off the meal with a deep fried oreo sundae!
SATURDAY
We made it home! And there was nothing better than sleeping in my own bed that night. Now, just for a few more pictures...(This seriously made me nervous... that truck certainly isn't large enough to haul that sled!)
He's a cutie pie!
And although it technically wasn't during "spring break," my birthday was just 2 days after.. and this is what I found when I got home from work- beautiful pink roses, a very sweet card, and delicious truffles.
Thanks babe!
